Swift School Athletics

The Spartiates were the athletes of Sparta who were identified at a young age.

Spartiates were trained for battle and put through grueling challenges intended to craft them into fearless warriors.

In battle, they had the reputation of being the best soldiers in Greece, and the strength of Sparta’s forces led to Sparta becoming the dominant state in Greece at several points during the Hellenic period in history.

It is always our intention to give this award to a senior student who has met the criteria as listed below—as reward for their commitment and performance.

In order to be considered for this prestigious award a Swift Spartan will

• Have competed in a sport throughout the two seasons
• Have successfully made a significant performance contribution to two sports
• Have attended at least 90% of all practices
• Be in good academic standing
• Be respected by their peers
• Be respected by their coaches and teachers
• Be a good citizen within the community
• Be a leader on their respective teams

All parents/guardians, students and spectators shall conduct themselves in a respectful manner conducive to modeling good sportsmanship.  They shall refrain from all conduct that tends to degrade, bait, intimidate or otherwise discredit their players, opponents, officials, student-athletes or coach.

Swift student-athletes travel to other schools and related venues within the Atlanta area to participate in practices, scrimmages, and/or games on a school-owned vehicle. The vehicle is insured according to legal requirements and will be driven by approved Swift staff. Misconduct or failure to observe motor vehicle laws relating to passenger transportation can result in suspension from team play and/or loss of transportation privilege for the student-athlete
