Sadness consumed Elizabeth before her family enrolled her at Swift School. From kindergarten through second grade, Elizabeth struggled academically and felt behind. Thankfully, everything changed when she arrived on Swift’s campus.

Before Swift, I was behind on everything, and I felt like nobody understood me or what I needed to learn, Elizabeth recalled. I felt sad and angry, and I didn’t realize why I learned differently than others.

In third grade, Elizabeth began her Swift School journey and remained a Swift Spartan for six years, graduating in 2020. She initially felt butterflies before blossoming into a successful student under the tutelage of compassionate teachers.

All of my Swift teachers cared, and unlike my previous school, they were suddenly on my side. Once I hit fourth grade, I started to realize that they wanted to help me with my struggles. They refused to toss me or my differences aside. I was finally understood and cared for as a student, she stated.

In middle school, Elizabeth formed close bonds with Mrs. Ford and Mr. Lytle, and each educator helped her discover something new about herself.

“Mrs. Ford showed me how to improve my writing and speech,” she recalled. “She always made me feel heard and understood. Mr. Lytle was the first male teacher I ever had, and I absolutely loved him. He showed me that I was capable of more things than I ever imagined.”

Elizabeth’s teachers helped her realize her potential and understand that she was capable of achieving her dreams. Elizabeth echoed that same message, encouraging Swift’s current students that anything is possible. “Don’t let anything stop you and your dreams,” she stated. “Everything happens for a reason.”

After graduating from Swift, she attended a private high school that serves students with language-learning differences. This fall, Elizabeth is headed to Reinhardt University, where she plans to major in Early Childhood Education.

A life-changing, transformative journey happened for Elizabeth because she felt a sense of belonging, and discovered who she is as a learner thanks to Swift’s faculty. Elizabeth embraced her strengths and was empowered by Mrs. Ford, Mr. Lytle, and others to confidently pursue her dreams.
