Structured Literacy explicitly teaches systemic word-identification/decoding strategies. Join Natalie Felix, AOGPE Fellow-In-Training, to explore each of the elements included in a structured literacy approach. Attendees will learn what each of those elements are as well as participate in interactive exercises to illustrate how they are used when working with students.
This is a great workshop for any parent or education professional who wants to learn what structured literacy lessons look like from one of Swift's most highly trained Orton-Gillingham experts.
Social-Emotional Learning: Helping Kids with Learning Differences Build Social and Day/Time: Tuesday, February 11, 6:30–8:00 p.m. Leader: Dr. Greer Ezrine
In this workshop, Dr. Greer Ezrine—licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist—will discuss practical and effective evidence-based interventions to help children with learning differences develop the social and emotional skills they will need to be successful at school and in life. Tips for fostering connection, effective communication, self-regulation, and resiliency in the face of adversity will be offered. Resources for support and self-care as parents and educators will also be suggested.

The Experience Dyslexia® Simulations, designed by the Northern California Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, are designed to increase awareness of the difficulties and frustrations that people with dyslexia experience daily. Swift School will be presenting these simulations on March 17 at 6:30 p.m.
