New Parent Orientation Thursday, August 8, 6:30 p.m. New parents who have not yet attended a New Parent Orientation or who still have questions about everything Swift-related are invited to join the administrative staff for this informative presentation. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
Grades 3–5 Assessments Monday, August 12 Parents in Grades 3–5 are asked to bring their child to school to meet and work with one of their new teachers. During this time, teachers and students will have an opportunity to foster their relationship through informal dialogue, as preliminary assessments are administered.
During assessments, parents are invited to the Dining Hall for a quiet space to work, enjoy coffee and donuts, and meet with our Directors to ask any questions you have before the start of school.
Parents of all 5th grade students should bring their children's Chromebooks
Mrs. Battoglia emailed all parents in grades 3-5 with their child's Assessment appointment time. Please make sure you confirm your appointment with her via email.
Grades 6 & 7 Preliminary Conferences Monday, August 12 Swift Middle Division faculty work to partner with families to create the best educational environment possible. At these conferences, teachers listen to parents so that they can plan for a positive beginning school experience. See the MD Welcome Letter for more information.
Back-to-School Meet & Greet Tuesday, August 13
Meet teachers; set up desks and decorate lockers; sign up for fall sports, after school clubs and academic coaching; buy used uniforms and more.
Classrooms will be open only for the first 45 minutes of the morning and afternoon sessions. Parents will be able to conduct a wide variety of back-to-school business in the Activity Hall throughout the 2-hour sessions.

Summer Book Projects Book projects for 2nd through 8th grade students are due on the first day of school.
Above & Beyond After School Clubs and Academic Coaching Theater, art, science, sports, music and other extracurricular offerings are available to students through Swift's Above & Beyond After School program. Most clubs meet during the first hour of After Care from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Primary Chorus for grades 1–3 and Band for grades 4–8 are new for the 2019-20 school year. Orton-Gillingham Subscriber Course Swift is offering a 6-hour Orton-Gillingham Subscriber Level Course on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This course provides the opportunity for parents to become familiarized with the teaching approach used in Swift classroom's on a daily basis to teach struggling readers how to read.
