From October 23 to 25, Swift School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. This nationally recognized event encourages students to make healthy choices and to be drug free.

Monday, October 23, is Just Say No, Wear Red From Head to Toe Day. Students are encouraged to wear as much red as possible.

The week's other activities will include:

  • Monday kick-off assemblies for Lower and Middle Divisions.
  • An essay and creative writing contest for students in grades 4–8.
  • Social skills lessons on making healthy choices and how to stand up to negative peer pressure.
  • A Mix-it-Up lunch on Tuesday. Students will discuss the importance of mixing it up with friends instead of alcohol and drugs.
  • Visits from Jules to Lower Division classrooms on Wednesday for
    Hugs Not Drugs Day.

"It's exciting to see the enthusiasm that students are already displaying as they prepare for Red Ribbon Week. Classes are decorating hallways and incorporating the drug free theme into the curriculum. I am proud to be part of a school that takes this program very seriously," said School Counselor Leah Molloy.
